Cane Corso Dogs are prone to some diseases and conditions. In order to obtain a healthy dog free of genetically inherited illnesses, make sure your breeder has all necessary medical certificates. Hip dysplasia, gastric torsion, red mange, and eyelid abnormalities are the diseases that are frequently mentioned in connection with the Cane Corso dog breed.
As the Cane Corso is a breed of mastiff, eye problems are common to it. Entropion, ectropion and "cherry eye" are the most frequent eye diseases in Cane Corsos. Regualar veterinary check-ups will keep you current on the health condition of your dog.
Cane Corsos - Why Adopt Rescue Dogs
There are a number of reasons why it is advisable to adopt a Cane Corso. First, as rescues mostly deal with adult dogs, you won't have to worry about housebreaking your new pet. Then, other puppy's habits like chewing, digging; gnawing and generally messing around are also gone in adult Cane Corsos.
With an older dog, you do not have to wait for a puppy to grow up. More than that, you have a wonderful opportunity to select the most compatible dog. Then, rescue dogs tend to deeply bond with their new people. They have experienced the pain of loss and perhaps, learned well what life on the streets means. Most rescue Cane Corsos make affectionate pets and loving companions to their new masters.
