Cane corso dogs get along well with most other dogs providing they were socialized early in their breeders kennels.
Never bred to be a fighter, the breed preserved its temperament characteristics such as balance, affection towards owner, protectiveness, and loyalty. The breed is, however, tends to be wary of strangers and will do the best to guard the owner and property.

In comparison with other Mastiffs, the breed is not so large and does not display excessive aggressiveness. It more easily adapts to apartment living and is loyal towards other pets.
